What is Intrauterine Fertilization?
Intrauterine insemination (IUI) is a procedure to directly inject sperm into the uterus. Increasing the number of sperm getting to the egg increases the chance of fertilization of the egg.
IUI is a treatment for mild male factor infertility such as low sperm count or a low number of moving sperm. It is often used in combination with controlled ovarian hyperstimulation to treat unexplained infertility.
