Costs and Insurance

There is no cost for medical forensic services you receive in our Emergency Department.

If you have insurance, we will bill your insurance. You will not have to pay anything for these services. If you have private insurance and you are not the main policyholder, you can ask us not to charge your insurance to protect your privacy.

If You Are Not Fully Covered by Medicaid

You can get an Authorization for Payment Voucher. You can use the voucher for no-cost follow-up care related to the sexual assault. It expires after 180 days.

If You Are Fully Covered by Medicaid

Give your Medicaid card to the clinician you see for follow-up care related to the sexual assault. Medicaid will cover that care.
